Codius App

Codius model access

Connect one API key and let Codius App prepare supported agent sessions automatically.

Codius AppGuide

Codius App can make eligible Codius models the default for supported agents without asking you to copy provider blocks or edit agent configuration files.

Before you start

You need:

  • a Codius organization;
  • an active Pro or Max Coding Plan;
  • an organization API key with model and inference access;
  • the agent you want to use installed on the Codius host.

Connect once

  1. Open Host Settings → Providers.
  2. Find Codius models.
  3. Paste the organization API key and select Connect.
  4. Leave Use Codius models automatically enabled.
  5. Select the default model after the catalog loads.

Codius validates the key before storing it. The settings page displays only its last four characters after connection.

What happens when an agent starts

When you launch a compatible agent, Codius builds the provider settings for that session and selects the connected Codius model if the workspace has no explicit model choice.

Current automatic adapters cover:

  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • GitHub Copilot
  • OpenCode
  • Pi

The agent process, repository, tools, terminal, and worktree remain on your host. Model requests use your connected organization access.

Your config files stay yours

Codius does not rewrite an agent's user-level or project-level configuration. Session-scoped settings disappear when the process exits. An explicit workspace model or provider selection takes precedence over the automatic default.

Change or disconnect access

Return to Host Settings → Providers → Codius models to:

  • select another available default model;
  • disable automatic defaults while keeping the key connected;
  • replace the connected key;
  • disconnect and remove the stored key.

Disconnecting affects new agent launches. Restart an existing agent session if you need it to pick up the new setting immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • The key is rejected: confirm it belongs to the intended organization, is active, and has model access.
  • No models appear: check the Coding Plan and the host's network access.
  • An agent uses another model: check whether the workspace has an explicit provider or model override.
  • An agent is not listed above: use that agent's existing provider setup until its Codius adapter has been capability-reviewed.
